The place in San Pedro de Poas

This week, I went to Grecia, in the Meseta Central (Central Valley) to find out if I like this area, and if there are already too many gringos. Grecia is a cute noisy city, with lots of amenities, good weather, and a growing ex-pat community. I met with Randy from cr-homes (something I found on the internet) who works with his son in law (Tico) to get good prices on properties he represents, and because he is ex-pat, he also does business like an American realtor would. He also likes learning more about the area and being a tour guide/supporter for new people. This place, a little south of the (active) volcano Poas (I am told when it erupts, it flows the OTHER way!) is about 3 manzanas (about 6 acres) on a river, with a spring, a very funky old house on PAVED road (this would not be a re-hab - this would be tear it down and start over) and a quiet road with a fruit tree orchard, organic coffee, and a private little grove. asking $40K. I am VERY tempted, this is the best thing I have seen so far, even though it is not Orosi...
